Shamele Jordon is a professional genealogist, producer, writer, and lecturer. Her biographical highlights include: award-winning TV producer of Genealogy Quick Start; 2023 National Genealogical Society SLAM! winner for Street Genealogy, researcher for the PBS series Oprah’s Roots: African American Lives I and II; 2023 NJHC grant recipient for projects on the Underground Railroad and Green Book, Vice President of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania, co-founder of Black Genealogy Experience, creator of Visualizing the Past, youth genealogy; faculty at the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research, University of Athens, Ga, former president of the African American Genealogy Group in Philadelphia.
